George's Facelift Unveiled

1250 Prospect Street

You may have noticed our building at 1250 Prospect Street undergoing a major renovation this year. After nine months behind the scaffolding, we're excited to announce that the work is finally complete. The green and red awnings are gone, making way for a modern facade with new George's at the Cove signage.

"What a difference!" said Executive Chef and Partner Trey Foshee. "The architect, Mark Steele did a fantastic job. He removed many of the old Spanish-style arches, opening up the building and giving it a real southern California feel. Clean, modern lines and materials make it one of the nicest buildings on the street. All three of our levels are now easier to see from the street and new handicap lifts have made ADA access closer and easier. We now have a building where what you see on the outside lives up to what you see on the inside."

If you haven't visited us recently, now is the perfect time. We're serving up our new summer menu downstairs at California Modern, with dishes like Snapper Crudo with radish, cucumber, charred jalapeño and summer melons, and Vegetable Lasagna with Chino Farms squash and corn, baked ricotta and mushroom bolognese.

We’re elevating the craft of cocktails in La Jolla at our all-new bar, Level2, located on the middle level of George's where you’ll find proprietary recipes and our twist on the classics, as well as fun social events like our monthly Craft at the Cove cocktail series.

And we're soaking in the summer sun upstairs on our rooftop Ocean Terrace, complete with a new, extended Ocean view bar.
